People ask me how it is to be a mother of two. How it has been going from caring for my toddler to also caring for a baby. I wish there was a simple answer or a straight forward feeling. I thought going from having one baby to two would be easier. And it is, but it isn’t.
Motherhood: behind the scenes…
The one who made me mama. I don’t think you will ever know how much you’ve changed me for the better. I wake up each and every single day feeling grateful. Your smile, our conversations and more recently your love towards Riah are all the things I look forward to every single day. Watching you become a big brother this year has been exceptionally beautiful for me and the biggest gift I could have asked for. I can’t wait to watch you and Riah play and grow as siblings in the coming years inshallah. Can I please ask anyone reading this to keep me and my family in your duwas 🙏🏽? May Allah swt protect us from anything that’s bad for us and guide us to the right path.
The last two years have been a huge learning curve. I’ve learnt that I need to be more mindful of people’s energy and how this impacts me and my mood. Life with two kids, a husband, a house and work is hectic so there really isn’t any room for negative energy. I know in the coming years I need to distance myself from people that leave me feeling unhappy and uncomfortable. This isn’t easy when you’re a people pleaser but it’s a must in order to protect your well being. Have you experienced anything similar? How do you protect your sanity from toxic people and toxic situations?
Walking out of 2021 with gratitude, humbleness and a heart bursting with love. Eternally grateful for life’s biggest blessings, my two babies.
Happy weekend everyone! I hope you are all surrounded by your loved ones, doing the things you enjoy. Cherishing the little moments as they’re the most special. Or at least that’s what I am finding.
